Students Seminar -categorisation of hotels according to market segment

The Students of the II Semester conducted a seminar on the categorisation of hotels according to market segment on 11.01.20. It was an interactive session with the students making a presentation on the different hotels that fall into the different market segments.

SIMSARC19 – Paper Presentation

Mr. Raghavendra T. and Ms Priya Arjun attended SIMSARC19 organised by Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies, Pune on 17th December 2019

Mr. Raghavendra presented a paper on ‘Bar Stock Exchange: Impact of Disruptive Technology on Pub Management in Bengaluru and was a discussant for a  paper on An NLP Based Approach to Identify Suicidal Characteristics   on Twitter. Ms Priya Arjun presented a paper on ‘Online Liquor Delivery System(OLDS)  :  Disruptive Technology in the Beverage Industry in Bengaluru’ and was a discussant on Customer Churn Analysis in Telecom Industry.

Their papers were published in Futurology: Managing Business in the Age of Technological Disruptions, published by Bloomsbury and JIDNYSA, Journal od Applied Management, Vol 11/ Issue 2, ISSN : 0976-0326

A Chefs Symposium on “A Vegan Voyage”

A Chefs Symposium on “A Vegan Voyage” was conducted by Department of Hotel Management, Christ (Deemed to be University) in association with Taj Group of Hotels on 10th December 2019.

FHMCT faculty members Mr. Shashi Sharma, Mr. Sridhar Krishnan and Ms. Nagarekha Palli attended the symposium. Sessions on vegan food were “The vegan way”, “Gut Microbiome” and “Colours and flavours of Vegan” were conducted.

“South India Housekeepers’ Convention” 

The 4th South India Housekeepers’ Convention (SIHC) was held at The Leela Hotel , Bengaluru on 30th November 2019. It was an H&FS Connect initiative co-powered by Professional Housekeepers Association, Tamil Nadu House Keepers and Kerala Professional Housekeepers Association.  Ms Sandhya Anilkumar, HOD Housekeeping is a life member of the Professional Housekeepers Association (PHA) and had participated in the convention. The event witnessed participation from Telengana, Tamilnadu, Kerala and Karnataka Housekeeping Associations.

The theme of the convention was ‘ Future is now’. Keynote Address on ‘How can we be future relevant?’ was given by Mr Vikram Cotah, COO, GRT Group of Hotels. There were Panel discussions, B2B sessions. Post lunch the H& FS team got the entire hall active by proposing a 3 minute towel art and paper tower making competitions

“COSMAR Conference”

The department of Management Studies from IISc conducted a two day seminar on 28th and 29th November  2019. Paper presentations on Sustainability in restaurants, HR, OB, Marketing and Finance were presented. PhD scholars from FHMCT attended the conference. It gave them an insight into the technicalities of paper presentation and got the opportunity to network with other PhD students from different Universities.

“FHMCT Faculty as External Resource Persons”

Mr. Viswanath Srivaths Krishnan was appointed as External Examiner (Front Office Specialization)  for Hospitality and Event Management Examination of first Semester BBA students scheduled on the 25th and 26th November 2019 at PES University

” Latest trends in Laundry procedure”

The 5th semester students of FHMCT conducted a student seminar for their batch mates on given topic Linen discard management, Green cleaning agents in laundry, Latest trends in Laundry procedure on 20th November, 2019. The student were taught to identify the hazardous components in cleaning chemicals and to be able to purchase appropriate chemicals after reading the labels.

“Importance of Accountancy for Hospitality Management”

A student seminar on ‘Importance of Accountancy for Hospitality Management’ was conducted by 7th semester student Rabiya Khan for 5th semester BHM students on 19th November 2019.

The topic covered Importance, need for Accountancy for Hospitality Management and the users of accounting information.

“Trends – training manpower, technology, cleaning and energy conservation”

Trends related to training manpower, technology, cleaning and energy conservation were discussed by a team of students from V semester, on 15th November 2019. Trends like choosing colour of the interiors,  the intensity of light of light changing automatically and most relating to technology were the most interesting. They also used appropriate videos to illustrate the matter.

“Story-telling”

A student seminar on story-telling was conducted by the students of the 1st semester on 15th November, 2019. The students discussed the art of story- telling and also demonstrated the same. The session included a lot of English speaking and great fun!

“Furniture and Fixtures”

The students of the fifth semester Batch A conducted a seminar on Furniture and Fixtures on 15th November, 2019. They introduced the students to types of furniture used in Hotels, eco- friendly choices etc. Selection criteria for choosing furniture was also discussed. There was a Q and A session too.

Field visit to Tarkali, Maharashtra”

The 5th semester students of FHMCT conducted a student seminar on 14th November 2019 for the students of the 3rd semester on their experiences and learning during their field visit to Tarkali, Maharashtra the previous week. The students spoke about having learnt the importance of time management, handling tour bookings, check-in & check-out procedures, functioning of a homestay, wake-up calls, leadership qualities and patience. The students also spoke about the tourist attractions and water sports at the destination. The seminar was also attended by the Dean and other faculty members of FHMCT.

” Safety Deposit Lockers in Front Office in a Hotel “

The 5th semester students of FHMCT conducted a student seminar for their batchmates on ‘Safety Deposit Lockers in Front Office in a Hotel’ on 14th November, 2019. It was a very interactive session followed by the students conducting a riveting general knowledge quiz.

” Linen Condemn Management “

Maintaining linen par is a tough task for any Executive Housekeeper. The students of third semester spoke about Linen Condemn Management as a measure to efficient linen management on 11th November 2019. Methods to control linen misuse was discussed. They also shared the information on Green Housekeeping and the need to go green

” Bell Desk Operations “

A student seminar was conducted by the students of the 3rd semester for the MBA (Hospitality Management) students on Bell Desk Operations in Front Office on 7th November, 2019. The students used various means of presentation such as PPT, Role Play and Flip Chart to effectively explain the topic.

” Left-Luggage Handling and Wake-up Calls in the Front Office of a Hotel “

A student seminar was conducted by the 5th Semester Students for their batchmates on ‘Left-Luggage Handling and Wake-up Calls in the Front Office of a Hotel’ on 7th November, 2019 The students explained the topics effectively which was followed by a question and answer round. The seminar also included a general knowledge quiz with audio and visuals. The students learnt about Front Office Operations and GK while having fun.

“Practical Waste Management

Sanitation Waste Management and Environmental Engineering Research Center, RUAS organised a seminar on “Practical Waste Management” on 31st October 2019. Dr. Raja Ram, Director, Municipal Infrastructure, CCJM Engineers Ltd., Chicago, Illinois, USA was the Guest Speaker on the occasion. This session was held at Faculty of Engineering, RUAS, Peenya Campus.

Mr Shyam, Mr Shashi S, Ms Supriya and Ms Sandhya form FHMCT attended the same. Waste Segregation and the need for it was discussed. Few Mandatory requirements in terms of waste management as required by BBMP was also discussed.

” Etiquette and Mannerisms in the Hospitality Industry and Self-Conduct During Internship”

The 5th semester students of FHMCT conducted a student seminar for the 3rd semester on the ‘Etiquette and Mannerisms in the Hospitality Industry and Self-Conduct During Internship’ on 25th, 26th, 28th and 30th October 2019. It was an interactive session where the seniors, who had just completed their internship, shared their own training experiences and anecdotes. The 3rd semester students cleared many of their doubts, while also denouncing myths regarding the training.

‘Travel Experiences’

The students of The professional core elective ‘Travel and Tourism Management’ at FHMCT conducted a seminar on 25th October 2019 for the first year students. The seminar was based on their acquired travel experiences and knowledge about national and international destinations. 

The seminar commenced with Mr. Mahesh who spoke about his travel experience in Europe, covering 4 different destinations – Paris, France, Netherland and Belgium. He spoke about accommodation, food, visa as well as the local attractions and activities at the aforementioned places. He also gave the audience an insight into the chocolate and cheese factories that he had visited.

Next, Ms. Rakshya presented a solo traveller’s itinerary for 9 different destinations, i.e. Udaipur, Jaipur, Delhi, Andaman, Mustang, Goa, Pokhara, Muktinath and Kodaikanal. She spoke about her experience in each of the destinations, her learning about the culture and traditions, the mode of travel like hitch hiking without any money and low budget accommodation in hostels and ashrams. 

This was followed by Mr. Rohan Shah who spoke about his travel experience during his internship to Mauritius. He started with the visa legalities and the criteria for obtaining it. Along with this he spoke about scuba diving, sight-seeing, clubbing, beaches, turtles in Cap Malheureux and trekking towards an active volcano. 

Academic Registrar, Ms. Rashmi Koppar also shared her travel experiences of a 100-day road trip which started from Delhi and ended in London, experiencing varied cultures enroute in international destinations like of China, Russia, Middle Asia and Eastern Europe. The expedition was taken on by 3 women who travelled all alone and indulged in numerous adventurous activities like sky diving, bungee jumping and diving with sharks. This talk gave the participants an insight into the challenges and exposure to various cultures and food.

The seminar was very informative which was well acclaimed by the participants (students and faculty members).

‘Human Resources in the Hotel Industry’

A seminar was conducted based on the following topics by Mr Harish, HR manager at Gokulam Grand Hotel and Spa on 24th October 2019.

Mr. Harish also discussed about the importance of learning and development and its implication in a hotel industry.

It was an interactive session where the students gave their inputs based on their understandings of the Training and development.

‘Trends in the Wine Industry and Careers in the Wine Industry’

Mr Madhu Rajigani, Project Manager of Tulleeho Beverage Training and Education in India delivered a seminar for the students of the V Semester on the Trends in the Wine Industry and Careers in the Wine Industry on 18th October 2019.  The wine industry is dynamic and diverse and offers many opportunities to build exciting and rewarding careers. Winery jobs focus on all aspects of the wine industry from production to marketing.  One of the biggest trends has seen brands moving towards environmentally friendly decisions in order to align with consumer concerns over sustainability.

‘Les Regions Française et la Cuisine Regionale’

Ms. Gowri Ramesh, a freelance French teacher visited the faculty to conduct a seminar for the 2018 batch on Les regions française et la cuisine regionale on 17th October 2019.

 The students assembled in the seminar hall and Ms. Gowri, equipped with a presentation on the regions and regional cuisine of France spoke to the students about the culinary regions of France and the regional specialities.

The seminar was very insightful and informative. Ms. Gowri also brought with her samples of herbs, dried seasonings, beverages and preserves to share with the students, details of the specialities of some of the regions she had visited during her travels.

The purpose of the seminar was to expose the third- semester students to the various regions of France and also to the delicacies that are particular to those regions.

‘Role of Front Office in Hotel Lost and Found’

A student seminar was conducted by the students of the V semester on The Role of Front Office in Hotel Lost and Found on 17th October 2019. The seminar was conducted by Ananya, Maanavika, Sahadev and Srinidhi.

‘Market Structure In Economics’

Ashish Nair, a seventh-semester student conducted a seminar for the fifth-semester students on 17th October 2019 during the Economics class on the topic ‘Market Structure In Economics’. He covered details of market, components of a market and types of markets(monopoly, duopoly and monopolistic). It was an interactive session where the participating students gave their inputs based on their understanding of the market.

‘Science of Cooking Techniques’

A student seminar on “Science of Cooking Techniques” was conducted by Chef Neena Joshi for 1st semester BHM students on 15th and 16th October 2019.

The seminar was on ‘Functional and Working Properties of Food Ingredients’.  An interactive classroom session with a video on ‘Molecular Gastronomy’ and a presentation on properties of nutrients in foods and their functions covered the concept of  ‘Cooking as a Science’. It was followed by a demonstration of processing and cooking ingredients to produce different food products with the application of the concept. The seminar was well received with the active participation of the students

1. The impact of GST on guests patronizing hotels as well as impact on the hotel business

2. Real-time situation handling in Front Office

The session was very interactive and was well-received by the students.

Description of the Event:

A seminar was conducted for the VII semester students pursuing the course Hospitality Facility Management on Pest Control in various types of Facility. The guest speaker was Dr. Pradeep, is a Freelance Consultant and an Endomologist. Has multiple years of experience in the same field. Interacted with the students and spoke about the technicalities of pest control, their interaction with various organisations as vendors/ service providers etc.

‘La Gastronomie Française’

The students of 2018 batch conducted a student seminar on the topic La gastronomie Française from 1st to 9th October 2019. The purpose of the seminar was to involve the students in the teaching and learning process. It was an experimental flipped learning class where the students taught the class.

The session included topics like introducing the membership tiers that reward loyalty with increasing benefits and thoughtful touches that enhance the enjoyment of a guest’s experience. The students were educated about placement opportunities abroad including salaries, processing of visas, fee structures, prospective hotel companies involved, etc.

Description of the Event: The students of I Semester, batch 2019 doing the course Fundamentals of Front Office have visited different Hospitality Sectors in Bengaluru and observed the basic processes implemented in the sectors, interacted with the staff and have given presentations of their findings to the Course Leader. The entire experience was quite enriching for the students.

Description of the Event: Seminar was conducted for the students of III semesters students for the list of Countries, Capitals & Currency. The session included topics the general awareness with the alphabetical list of countries, capitals and their currencies

A student seminar was conducted by the students of the 3rd semester on their field visit to Angsana Resort the previous week on 21st September 2019. The students conducted the seminar with a lot of enthusiasm and explained all their observations with supporting photographs during the seminar.  

Student Seminar: The students of I Semester pursuing the course Fundamentals of Front Office, explored the different Hospitality Sectors in and around Ramaiah Campus on 18th September 2019. They visited the hospitality sectors, explored its different elements, like its location, USP, services and facilities offered, hospitality element and also interacted with the staff of these sectors. They presented all these findings in class in the form of PPTs and Chart Presentations.

Student Seminar: The students of the V Semester demonstrated Classic Old World Elegance  as they prepared Waldorf Salad, Crepe Suzette, Pineapple Flambe  and Irish Coffee using Gueridon Service from 16th to 18th September 2019.  The students of the I Semester were introduced  to the concept of Specialised Service . The interactive workshop  exhibited the importance of showmanship in delighting a restaurant guest.  The participants  were encouraged to  try their hands at  this elaborate and elegant form of service  

A student seminar on “Thai Cuisine” was conducted by 7th semester Professional Core Elective students Samyuktha and Akshitha for 1st semester BHM students from 16th to 18th September 2019. The students covered Thai food culture, ingredients, types of curry pastes, cooking methods and popular dishes

Student Seminar: The students of the I semester were given hands on experience in dining etiquette from 14th to 17th September 2019. They were served a three course menu that included  Potage St Germain, Penne  in Aioli Sauce  and Safrron Pannacotta.  This workshop gave the  participants an opportunity to step into the shoes of the restaurant guests. In addition, they learnt the sequence of service while they experienced Formal Banquet Service .

An international internship seminar for USA and Australia was conducted for the final year BHM students by Mr. Parag Modi, Managing Director of Global Career Advisers on 12th September 2019. The students were educated about placement opportunities abroad including salaries, processing of visas, fee structures, prospective hotel companies involved, etc.

The 5th-semester students of FHMCT organized a student seminar which included a role play on the duties of the front office cashier. The students took the initiative to make use of reception equipment like a model telephone, EDC machine as well as the property management system to enhance the learning outcomes of the seminar.

Mr Desmond Nazareth, Founder, and CEO, Agave India conducted a  seminar on Forest to Bottle & Field to Bottle-  Made In India, international quality distilled craft beverages for the VII students who have opted for Bar and Beverage Management and students of the  III Semester on 5th September 2019. The session focussed on the need for manufacturing low-cost beverages of international standards in India, the success story of Agave India, production techniques, a comparison of the processes followed by Agave India and reputed international manufacturers,  products and marketing strategies. He also stressed on the future of beverages using indigenous ingredients like Mahua.

A student seminar was conducted by the 1st Semester students during their Front Office Practical session on Hotel Classification on 5th, 6th & 7th September 2019. The students developed informative and colourful charts and explained the same to their batchmates. The charts were assessed by Front Office faculty members.

Ms. Nagarekha Palli, Mr. Sreekanth N, and Ms. Priya Arjun participated in a Seminar on ‘Nutritional Security: Wholesome Food – A Challenge’ organized by Protein Foods and Nutrition Development Association of India (PFNDAI) in collaboration with Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru on September 4, 2019.  There were talks on Food fortification and bioavailability: Future measures for ensuring food security in Indians, Economic value of supplementation, Driving health and wellness: Time to upshift om optimum nutrition and physical activity and Plant-based diets: Solutions for climate change and nutritional security.

A Front Office Seminar was conducted for the students of III Sem on 4th September 2019. The resource person was Mr. Sohail Ahemad, Duty Manager, Holiday Inn. His session included topics like Processing of Group Reservation, GDS and CRS Functions,  Functions of Travel Agency and Concept of Overbooking.

A student seminar was conducted on the 4th of September 2019 by the students of 7th Semester Travel and Tourism PCE. The topic was “Preparation of an Itinerary”. The structure of 3 days – 2 nights itinerary with its various essential elements was discussed. Each group put forth a detailed, informative itinerary for Sirsi and Hampi.

Ms. Jayashree Nandagopal, Sales and Marketing Manager-India and Ms. Jenny Jenkins General Manager from Le Cordon Bleu visited FHMCT on 30th August 2019 and interacted with V semester students regarding Higher study options and courses available especially for students specializing in culinary arts in New Zealand, Australia and other countries. The students had various queries regarding scholarships, accommodation etc which were answered by the resource persons

Trends in hotel lighting were the topic for the student seminar conducted by students of Batch B, V semester on 29th of August 2019. It was a very informative session where a lot of illustration was made on particular lighting technology and the concept of UPCYCLING. Using an appropriate collection of videos with a very expressive narration of real-time scenario, the students of Batch A, V semester conducted another seminar on Safety and Security of Hotel Guests and Assets.

Mr. Jeevan National Head Training and Quality from Schevaran Labs Pvt ltd visited FHMCT on 28th August 2019 and interacted with VII students Specializing in Facility Management.

The students were given insights on various topics including Waste Management, Furniture and Catering Maintenance and handling Logistics.

It was an informative session and students had a great learning

Mr Devanand and Ms Rubiya Farheen from Global Reach Consultancy visited FHMCT on 27th August 2019 and interacted with students regarding Higher studies options in various countries including USA, UK, New Zealnd, Singapore and Switzerland

Mr. Christopher from Silver Peak Consultancy visited FHMCT on 26th August 2019 and interacted with final year students regarding opportunities available in International Market especially Japan. The interested students from the final year appeared for an aptitude test after the presentation

Ms Rekha Prosper, Asst Vice President Training from Dusters Total solutions Services interacted with the 7th-semester students on 26th August 2019. Details regarding  Operations and Services offered by a Facility Management Company and Career Opportunities in that sector was discussed. The students had many queries about work hours, salaries, positions they could apply for, etc. Ms. Rekha responded to all their questions very patiently.

Student Seminar on “Bangalore City Tour” was conducted by 7th Semester BHM Travel & Tourism Professional Core Elective students on 21st August 2019. The students presented 6 different types of itineraries for Bangalore city tour. All the elements of planning a city tour, like budgeting, places of interests, meals, travel time, etc. were incorporated. The activity was assessed by a panel of student judges

The Front Office students of 2017 batch conducted a student seminar on Night Auditing on 19th August 2019. The seminar was well-received by the students.

This is to inform you that a Seminar on Travel Diaries has been organized for the final year students of FHMCT specializing in Travel and Tourism on 21st August 2019. at the Seminar Hall, FHMCT. The guest speaker was Mr. Rohit Saraswathi, who apart from being an engineer is an avid mountaineer, a storyteller, and a motivational speaker. Through his talks at various Universities,  he has so far inspired 13, 000  students across educational institutions in India.

The Facility Manager of Hotel Chancery Pavilion visited FHMCT on 14th August 2019, to address the VII Semester students specialising in Hospitality Facility Management. The students were made aware about the career opportunities in Facility Management. They were also briefed about the basic fundamentals of Facility Planning and Management

The students of Travel and Tourism Management, 7th semester, organized a student seminar on the occasion of the 73th year of India’s Independence on 16th August 2019. The seminar was open to all students and faculty members at FHMCT. The session was an hour-long one, with enthusiastic students covering the fun facts of India. There was a short Ice -breaking session and a quiz conducted by Rohan to start with. Students also spoke about the cultures and the customs followed by Indians.

The session was fun-filled and quite informative as many unknown aspects of India were covered.

Mr.  Shivakumar R. , Learning and Development Manager, ITC Windsor, Bengauru  delivered a seminar on  ” Learning and  Development as Culture Catalyst Function at ITC Hotels”   for the students pursuing their MBA – Hospitality Management , Batch 2018 on 7th June 2019 .    The market in which  ITC Hotels and other  hotel chains  are operating is  changing and highly competitive,therefore  there is a need for continuous improvement in a  dynamic and flexible form which is able to adapt to need of all stakeholders . The focus of the session was on the impact of their Continuous Development Programme   on staff retention .

A Seminar on ‘Facility  Management’  was conducted by Mr. Venkatesh , Asst. Facility  Manager , CBRE South Asia Pvt. Ltd. on 31st May 2019 for the students pursuing MBA Hospitality Management . The  students were given an insight into the  efficient delivery of services ,  manpower management,roles and responsibilities of Facility Managers and use of technology. In addition the highly informative session  addressed  the scope, opportunities and challenges of this field .

Name of the Event: Seminar on airline ticketing

Date and Time: 16.04.2019, 9.30 am

On the 16th march 2019 a guest lecture was arranged for the students of PCE – Airlines and Airport Management on the topic “Airline Itinerary / Ticketing and role of GDS in the Airline industry”. Dr. Venkatesh Raman, Director of operations at Vibes air services, was the speaker at the seminar.

The students were made to understand the concept of IATA conference areas which is a vital part of airline ticketing.  Dr. Raman also spoke to the students on the role of GDS in airline ticketing as well as the concepts of SITI|SITO|SOTI|SOTO.

A seminar was conducted by Mr. Abhijit Kakoty, Key Account Manager at Cleartrip, for the students of the 2nd semester on ‘Reservations Operations in Front Office’. Significant aspects of Reservations Operations on Hotels such as the following were covered:

Date and Time: 15.04.19, 1.30 pm

Chef Shreyas Bhat, Chef In-charge of Hammered Cunningham Road, Bangalore interacted with the II Semester BHM students. The topic of discussion was “Indian Cuisine”. The objective of the seminar was to explain the indigenous ingredients and equipment used in Indian cuisine and to discuss the latest trends in modern Indian cuisine

Name of the Event: Seminar Eco-friendly practices and products in Housekeeping

 Date and Time: 11.04.19, 1.30pm

Ms Amandeep Kaur Executive Housekeeper of ITC Gardenia and Mr Joy Raj, Learning Service coordinator interacted with the VI Semester students on The Latest Trends in Housekeeping, highlighting Eco friendly practices and products in Housekeeping. Almost 90 students attended the seminar and were happy to discuss relevant challenges faced by the Hotel in Housekeeping operations.

Name of the Event: Seminar on the hospitality Industry

 Date and Time: 11.04.19, 3pm

The Marriott Hotels invited Placement Coordinators and students of FHMCT, Ramaiah University to participate in the seminar that was conducted at the Sheraton Grand Bangalore, where the students and faculty interacted with 17 General Managers and all Human Resource and Training Heads of Bangalore and Kochi properties.

This was a relationship building exercise where the students were inspired and motivated by all the Heads of the Hotels to join the Hotel industry. Various issues related to faculty exchange programs, internship and placement opportunities were discussed.

Name of the Event: Seminar on Tour Operator’s role, Planning and Designing a tout itinerary

Mr Arun Kumar, Country Manager Sales from Arabian Journeys interacted with the students. The seminar was conducted to provide a forum for discussion on the above mentioned topics. Travel and Tourism Management is a course conducted for the VIII semester students as part of the curriculum and the seminar was conducted to offer the students industry information on the same.

Date and Time: 10.04.2019, 3.30pm

The students of the VIII semester had a lively interactive session with the speakers with Mr. Imran Basha, HR Manager from Lemon Tree Hotel who cleared doubts and myths about the Leadership qualities and handling guest in different situations. It was organised as part of the curriculum to provide the students with knowledge on Organisational Behaviour.

The speaker also shared his experience with the students on different departments like Security department, Finance department, sales & Marketing department

To make student aware about the service quality and customer relationship in hotel industry, the placement team invited Ms. Tanushree Ghose, Front Office Manager, Lemon Tree Hotel, to conduct a seminar on Total Quality and Strategic Management for the VIII semester students. The speaker had an interactive session with the students and shared interesting anecdotes with the students.

Mr. Nipun Bhola- Cluster Manager- Revenue Management and Distribution from Lemon Tree Hotel delivered the lecture on Revenue Management and Distribution Channel Management for MBA-HM 2018 batch  on the topic Pricing Strategies

Name of the Event: Seminar on careers in the airline industry

Date and Time: 22nd March 2019, 8.30 am to 2.30pm

A guest lecture was arranged for the students of PCE – Airlines and Airport Management on the topic “Careers in the Airline industry”. Ms Ulrike Ferns and Mr Sanjay Melwani, Cabin Crew members from Cathay Pacific, were the speakers at the lecture. The students had a lively interactive session with the speakers with students clearing doubts and myths about the airline industry. The speakers also shared a few anecdotes with the students from their own experiences and travels.

Name of the Event: Seminar on  preparation of questionnaire and analysis of data

Date and Time: 15 March, 19 at 2:30-4:30 pm

Mr. Nishanth B- Founder Rectrix Technology  and visiting faculty at few MBA colleges was the guest speaker who demonstrated preparation of questionnaire through Google docs and analysis of data. Basics of SPSS was also discussed. This was conducted as a requirement for the course Research Methodology  for VI Sem BHM and the Dissertation module for MBA-HM
