Department of Food and Beverage Production

The Food and Beverage Production Department at FHMCT caters to students who have an aptitude for the culinary arts with a creative bent of mind.

Starting from the basics, students learn to plan menus, style and present dishes in many creative ways. They are well versed in cuisines and culinary cultures across the world. They are trained in the best practices of storage, processing, cooking, and costing of food and standardization of recipes. Cognizance of latest trends and developments in cooking techniques, healthy ingredients, nutritional requirements and environmental consideration is the focus of the department.

The Department ensures that all students gain proficiency in large scale commercial cooking maintaining standards of quality and food safety. The students are encouraged to augment their skills and grow as professionals for an enriching career as Chefs and Entrepreneurs.

The Food and Beverage Service Department at FHMCT is concerned with training the students to manage food service with confidence, commitment and warmth. The students are trained in the handling of a wide array of dining experiences, each of which encompasses a unique set of service skills. The students acquire advanced skills required to manage traditional and modern food and beverage service concepts.

The department ensures that students receive hands on training in latest trends and developments in service techniques and etiquette coupled with the usage of advanced technology.

The focus of the department is to impart knowledge and expertise in the logistics of planning, procuring and executing events such as fine dining, banquets, corporate events and MICE efficiently. Soft skills and personality development sessions are included in the curriculum which refines the global hospitality customer handling abilities of the students.

HOUSEKEEPING

Department of Housekeeping

The Housekeeping Department at FHMCT trains the students to manage the day to day facility operations of hospitality industry. The Students’ learning experience is enhanced by industry oriented case studies and training.

The students acquire knowledge of standard operating procedures in maintaining hotel public areas, clean rooms, laundry, linen, furniture, fixtures and fittings.  The department focuses on inventory management to improve productivity. Students are also encouraged to develop entrepreneurial skills through project management. 

The department ensures that the students cultivate team skills and effective communication skills essential to manage housekeeping operations. Hence the students are industry ready for a variety of careers in the hospitality and allied sector.

The department educates the students in the latest trends in sustainable housekeeping and green practices followed in the hospitality industry to comply with the local environmental regulations.

FRONT OFFICE

Department of Front Office

The Front Office Department at FHMCT trains the students in front office operations with emphasis on effective communication skills and overall personality development of students.

The students are given hands on experience with the hospitality property management system software to manage guest information, process reservations, assigning rooms, settling bills and revenue management. 

This department educates students about the importance of a liaison between guests and the hotel and ensuring that the needs of guests are met.

The department trains the students to acquire advanced skills in maintaining sustainable customer relationship and lifetime value.  Students are taught to handle the latest digital mediums of communication with the guests on a real time basis such as Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

Department of Management Studies- Hospitality

The Department of Management studies at FHMCT trains students to connect all the core areas of the hospitality industry. The department emphasises on the concept of “Home Away From Home” which is the core of the Hospitality Industry that accommodates guests with comfortable rooms, gourmet food, aesthetic surroundings and personalised service.

The department imparts advanced knowledge of computers, principles of management and organisational behaviour. The students learn accounting, costing and financial aspects of running a hospitality business. The students are trained in human resource management, marketing management & entrepreneurial development. The students develop an aptitude for fact finding through research methodology & hospitality projects.

The department ensures that the students gain adequate soft skills, critical thinking skills, problem solving skills through the personality development programmes which includes culinary and hospitality French that shapes them to a “Well Rounded Hospitality Professional”.
