Akaira 2025
As part of the off-stage events of Akaira 2025, held a week prior to the main event, students from FHMCT showcased their talents across various competitions. On 4th April 2025, Mookambikai secured the Bronze medal in the Face Painting competition, while the team comprising Ram Vilas, Rakesh, Rohit, and Hemanth earned the Gold in the E-Gaming event. Their achievements reflect the creativity, skill, and enthusiasm of FHMCT students in co-curricular activities.
NPTEL Exam- April 2025
Soumalya Baruah, a VIII semester, IV year BHM student from FHMCT, achieved an impressive 80% in the NPTEL online open elective course “Integrated Marketing Communication.” His outstanding performance placed him in the “topper 5%” category, a distinction awarded to candidates who rank among the top 5% of all successful participants in the course. This achievement highlights his academic excellence and commitment to continuous learning through national-level platforms like NPTEL (National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning).
ACADEMIX 2025 – ‘Itinerary
On 2nd April 2025, Mohammed Yousuf and Soumalya Barua clinched 1st place in the high-stakes Itinerary Design Challenge, organized by St. Claret Autonomous College, Bengaluru. With just 30 minutes to prepare, they crafted a sustainable heritage travel plan for Karnataka that stood out for its clear structure, creative execution, and focus on eco-conscious tourism and local community engagement. Their quick thinking, teamwork, and travel industry insight earned them top honors for their innovative approach.
SPHOORTHI- Annual Athletic Meet- 2025
The RUAS Inter-Faculty Sports Day, held on February 28th and March 1st, 2025, was a grand showcase of athleticism and teamwork. Ms. Dedeepya C. from FHMCT emerged as a star performer, earning the prestigious Best Athlete (Female) award for her outstanding achievements across multiple events, demonstrating exceptional skill, dedication, and sportsmanship.
Odyssey 2025 Inter-collegiate fest-2025
FHMCT students showcased their talent at Odyssey 2025, the intercollegiate fest organized by Christ (Deemed to be University) on February 18th and 19th. Competing against institutes nationwide, they secured first place in Restaurant Management (Chaitra R.) and Navigator’s Table (R. Paresh Singh), along with a second runner-up position in Event Management (Manya Nair), ultimately winning the Ever-Rolling Trophy for Overall Winners in the HAT Competition.
Young Chef India 2025
The Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (FHMCT) at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences proudly celebrates the achievement of Gokaraju Mohana Murali Krishnamraju, a final-year BHM student, in the Young Chef India 2025 competition by IIHM. Competing among 400 participants, he showcased exceptional culinary skills and secured a spot in the top 40 at the regional finals.
Le Saladathon – Garden University-2024
On November 13th, 2024, the Department of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology at Garden City University hosted a Salad Competition, emphasizing health, strength, and creativity. With 50 participants from various colleges, contestants showcased their culinary innovation using protein-rich ingredients. Ms. Amritha from FHMCT secured First Prize, winning a cash prize, trophy, and certificate for her outstanding creation.
Inter-college cultural fest- 2023
On 25th November 2023, Pranav Vivek, a 7th semester student from the Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (FHMCT), proudly represented Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences and the Dramatics Club – Anubhooti at a prestigious event held at Cambridge Institute of Technology.Participating in the highly competitive “Mad Ads” event, Pranav showcased exceptional creativity and stage presence, competing against talented students from various renowned institutions. His outstanding performance earned him the First Prize, along with a Certificate of Achievement and a Cash Award of ₹1000.

Pranav Vivek, a 7th semester BHM student from the Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (FHMCT), was honored with the prestigious Student Achiever Award by the Directorate of Student Affairs, RUAS on 18th November 2023.The award was conferred in recognition of his remarkable accomplishments in multiple inter-collegiate competitions across Bangalore, where he represented Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences (RUAS) with distinction. This recognition was part of “Kahale 2023”, the University’s vibrant Kannada Rajyotsava celebration.Pranav’s achievements reflect his dedication, versatility, and commitment to excellence, bringing pride to both FHMCT and RUAS.
Student Recognition – Invited as Event Judge
On 2nd November 2023, Pranav Vivek, a 7th semester BHM student from the Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (FHMCT), was invited to serve as a judge at EQUINOX 2023, one of the most prestigious college fests in the Bangalore Festival Circuit, hosted by St. Joseph’s Pre-University College.Recognizing his expertise, outstanding performance in dramatics, and deep interest in the performing arts, the organizers selected Pranav to judge the “Mad Ads” event—an area where he has consistently excelled and earned accolades.This invitation reflects the growing acknowledgment of student talent at RUAS and Pranav’s individual accomplishments as both a performer and mentor.
Student Achievement – National-Level Sports Recognition
Dhanush Subramani, a VII semester student from the Batch of 2020 at the Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (FHMCT), brought laurels to Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences by securing the Second Place in the Team Shotgun Event held on 15th October 2023 in Patiala.The event was organized by the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI), one of the premier bodies promoting shooting sports in the country. Competing at a national platform, Dhanush demonstrated exceptional skill, precision, and sportsmanship.
Student Achievement – Cultural Event Recognition
Preetham, a 3rd semester student from the Batch of 2020 at the Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (FHMCT), showcased exceptional talent by securing the First Prize in the Rap Battle Competition held on 14th October 2023. The event was part of MEDIATRON-23, the annual fest of Jyoti Nivas Autonomous College, and featured 8 skilled competitors from various institutions. Preetham’s outstanding lyrical performance and stage presence earned him top honors, including a Certificate, Trophy, and a Cash Prize.
Student Achievement – Runner-Up in Intercollegiate Flower Arrangement Competition
As part of the International Housekeeping Week 2023 celebrations, a Flower Arrangement and Towel Art Competition was organized at Ceres, Sheraton Grand Bangalore Hotel at Brigade Gateway on 18th September 2023. Institutes across the city were invited to nominate two students each (preferably from the 2nd or 3rd year) to represent their college in the Flower Arrangement Competition. Participants were provided with all necessary materials, and faculty coordinators or training and placement officers were encouraged to accompany the students. Representing FHMCT, Ms. Padmini and Ms. Anjita Das, both from the V Semester, Batch of 2021, showcased exceptional creativity and technical finesse, securing the Runner-Up position among several talented teams.
