Trekking & Cleanliness Drive on World Tourism Day, 2025
The Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (FHMCT), Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Bengaluru Office, and YUVA Tourism Club, organized a World Tourism Day trek on September 29, 2025. The trek covered Channarayana Durga Fort, Namada Chilume, Mydala Lake, and Mandaragiri Hills. Guided by Mr. Manjunatha Babu B.N. and Ms. Megha Bagde, the event promoted eco-tourism and sustainability through activities like a cleanliness drive and cultural exploration. The trek offered students valuable exposure to heritage, nature, and teamwork while encouraging responsible tourism practices.

Ekyam 2025
The Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology, RUAS, students from BHM Batches 2022, 2023, and 2025 came together to celebrate Ekyam on 25th September 2025, from 12:30 to 5:30 pm. The event was a celebration of South Indian culture and tradition and it was attended by about 200 students and teaching and non-teaching members. The event featured a Pookalam rangoli made from live flowers, created through the students’ effortless work. The day also witnessed the students of FHMCT coming in ethnic traditional attire from different regions of India. The culinary team prepared a sumptuous and scrumptious meal consisting of a mix of South Indian delicacies that was overtly enjoyed by one and all. The service team took enough effort to organise seamless service to all the members.

Freshers’ Day Celebration – “FreshFlix”–2025

Held on 29th August 2025 (5:30 pm – 8:30 pm) at the Atrium, FHMCT, the Freshers’ Day welcomed 95 students of BHM and B.Voc (Culinary Operations) Batch 2025–29. Inspired by Netflix, freshers dressed as iconic characters and participated in competitions like Talent Show, Rapid Fire, Air Crash, and Ramp Walk, leading to the selection of Mr. and Ms. Fresher. Seniors entertained with group and solo dances, while the Hospitality Club (Batches 2022 & 2023) organized the event with faculty support. The themed décor, welcome drinks, and refreshments created a lively, memorable start to the new academic journey.
79th Independence Day Celebrations – Har Ghar Tiranga-2025 at FHMCT in Collaboration with Ministry of Tourism

| The Faculty of Hospitality Management and Catering Technology (FHMCT), Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, in collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism, Bengaluru Office, and supported by the YUVA Tourism Club and NSS RUAS FHMCT, celebrated India’s 79th Independence Day on 13–14 August 2025 through a series of competitions under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign. The events included a Quiz Competition on “India and Its Independence,” fostering historical knowledge and patriotic spirit; an Essay Writing Competition on the significance of the national flag, encouraging analytical thinking and expression of national pride; and a Rangoli Competition themed “Tricolor Inspiration,” showcasing artistic interpretations of unity and freedom. Enthusiastic participation from students, staff, and school children, along with active engagement from faculty, marked the celebrations. Winners across various categories were recognized with certificates and prizes, and special recognitions were awarded for outstanding contributions. The events promoted creativity, cultural pride, and teamwork while deepening understanding of India’s independence movement, democratic values, and the importance of national symbols. The collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism added prestige to the celebrations, which left a lasting impact as a vibrant and inspiring expression of patriotism and unity within the RUAS community. |
Akaira 2025- University Fest
Akaira 2025, the annual cultural fest of Ramaiah University, lit up the campus on April 5th and 6th with two unforgettable days of talent, energy, and celebration. From vibrant competitions in dance, music, and fashion to soulful performances, the highlight was the mesmerizing live concert by Rajesh Krishnan on April 5th at Temple Square. The fest closed with a bang as students danced the night away during the electrifying DJ Night on April 6th.
Ekyam 2024: A Celebration of Culture & Unity
On October 4th, 2024, around 200 students from the Faculty of Hospitality Management & Catering Technology came together to celebrate Ekyam 2024, a vibrant fusion of Ganesha Festival, Onam, and Ethnic Day. The event began with a pooja and Pookalam, followed by a traditional Sadya Oota prepared and served by students.
The celebration featured cultural performances, a spirited Tug of War, and lively music and dance. The event concluded with the Visarjan of Lord Ganesha, making it a day of spirituality, joy, and togetherness.
World Tourism Day 2024: Celebrating India’s Heritage & Sustainability:
On September 27th, 2024, FHMCT, in collaboration with India Tourism, Bengaluru, celebrated India’s rich heritage, diverse traditions, and cultural values. The event featured an exhibition and performances showcasing traditional art, crafts, and historical themes. Additionally, a ‘Swachh Bharat’ campaign was conducted, where club members actively participated in cleaning the institution premises. The event was judged by Mr. Vikas T (Founder, DTORR) and Mr. Pranav (FHMCT Alumnus, ADEVO Employee), making it a meaningful celebration of culture and sustainability.
XENIA 2024: A Celebration of Hospitality and Talent
On September 18th & 19th, 2024, XENIA 2024, an intercollegiate festival, brought together 111 participants from 16 colleges to compete across five departments: Food & Beverage Production, Food & Beverage Service, Front Office, Housekeeping, and Management. The event featured competitions, culinary showcases, and industry-oriented presentations, fostering practical learning experiences.
With the support of 12 sponsors, Xenia included cultural performances, an exhibition (Xenia Street Collective), and an awards ceremony, making it a dynamic platform for students to showcase their skills and network with industry professionals.
Fresher’s Party 2024: A Magical Disney-Themed Celebration:
On August 30th, 2024, 60 students from Batch 2024-28 attended a vibrant Disney-themed Fresher’s Party at Dwarka Hall, MSRUAS. Dressed as beloved Disney characters, students participated in exciting competitions like Talent Show, Ramp Walk, and Air Crash, while enjoying stand-up comedy and dance performances by seniors. Mr. & Ms. Fresher were crowned based on these events. Organized by the Hospitality Club (Batch 2021 & 2022) with faculty support, the event featured a photo booth, minimal Disney-themed décor, and delicious food, making it a memorable and successful celebration.
